The last time Angelina Jolie starred in a non-animated film, it was By the Sea, a film she wrote and directed. More to the point, it starred her then beau Brad Pitt. After the release of the film, which was about a couple struggling, it wasn’t long before the once celebrated couple separated for good.Though Angelina Jolie voiced the character of Tigress in Kung Fu Panda 3 after that and starred in Maleficent, with her growing admiration for direction, the actress had slowly begun disappearing from the acting world. But now it seems a project has finally emerged that will bring Angelina Jolie, the actress, to the big screen or to a streaming service. And no, it is not Maleficent 2, presently in post-production.According to an exclusive report in Deadline, the actress will star in Those Who Wish Me Dead, a drama written by Taylor Sheridan, who will also direct it. The drama, reported to be a “rugged thriller” is adapted from a novel by Michael Koryta. Sheridan’s credits include previous scripts such as the western Hell or High Water among other projects.According to Deadline, “Jolie is finalizing a deal to star. Sheridan’s script is described as a hard-boiled chase thriller set against a wildfire in the Montana wilderness and uses the novel as a jumping-off point.”Though no studio or streaming giant is attached to the project just yet, the plan to shoot in May is still on schedule. In addition to this, Angelina Jolie is also an executive producer of a children’s program for the BBC called Our World.
