Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, also known as Mr Perfectionist, has blockbuster films like 3 Idiots, PK and Dangal among others to his name. However, his most recent outing, Thugs of Hindostan featuring the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif that released in November last year, failed to live up to the hype and didn’t do well at the box office.Though the actor apologized to viewers for failing to entertain them shortly after the film’s release, Aamir Khan has once again opened up about the critical and commercial failure of his recent film. Taking full responsibility, he defended the director Vijay Krishna Acharya and said that the audience has a right to be angry.“The audience has come to watch the film on my name, for that audience I feel fully and personally responsible,” he said during a press meet up.When asked if he has forgiven director Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor), Aamir responded that he doesn’t need to forgive Victor and that all directors he works with have good intentions. “We all want to make good films but sometimes it doesn’t happen. I’m a team player. If my director has gone wrong somewhere then even I have gone wrong,” he shared. “I believe in the director and if he has gone wrong, I have also gone wrong. There is no problem to accept that. We will learn from our mistakes.”Talking about the severe criticism that the film received, he said, “Many came to me saying that they liked the film. I think the audience has the full right to say exactly what they want and they can be harsh in that criticism, that is their right. If there was a certain amount of harness, then so be it. It has been a long time that I have not given any flop film... good that audience also got a chance to remove their frustration,” he concluded.
