Cop shoots colleague dead

MARDAN: A cop allegedly shot dead a colleague near the Commissioner’s Office in the limits of City Police Station on Thursday, police sources said. The sources said a police constable identified as Abdul Hameed, who was performing duty at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), was near the Commissioner’s Office when a head constable identified as Mohammad Akbar allegedly opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. Police arrested the alleged killer and recovered from him the weapon used in the crime. A case was registered against the accused and investigations launched. A woman-related issue was allegedly the cause of the incident.
