Last week, Laal Kabootar actress Mansha Pasha got engaged to activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir and videos and pictures of the engagement ceremony went viral on social media. While many congratulated the happy couple, one particular video in which Jibran is kissing his fiancee received severe backlash, calling it an ‘immoral’ act.
Mansha Pasha, who last appeared in socially relevant drama serial Surkh Chandni alongside Sohai Ali Abro and Osman Khalid Butt, took to Twitter to respond to the trolls. The actress reposted a tweet by Muslim cleric Mufti Menk which read, “The world today is such that whatever people don’t know about you, they create. They piece together what they hear from rumours, social media as well as assumptions & lies. It spreads really fast by the touch of a button. Stay away from such acts. You’ll be held accountable!”
In response to the tweet, Mansha wrote, “This is especially true for me with regards to the troll comments on some of my engagement photos. Assumptions made on my life, my choices, my previous relationships. You can’t justify cruelty by calling it ‘an opinion’ especially if it’s a worthless opinion.”
Actress Armeena Rana Khan supported Mansha Pasha’s views and sent positive energy her way. “You looked like a queen Mansha and your face reflected true happiness and nobody can take those moments away from you. They hate because of empty hearts and minds. I’m just going to send you positive energy to fill your timeline with love,” tweeted Armeena.
