RDA demolishes 13 illegal buildings

Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has demolished 13 under construction buildings and two site offices of two illegal housing schemes.RDA operation team including Director Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC), Director Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE), Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Director Building Control, Superintendent Scheme, Building Inspectors and others with the assistance of the police from concerned police station carried out operation against above mentioned two illegal housing schemes near Islamabad Airport International.RDA operation team also removed illegal transformer there and infrastructure on the road. The owners of these properties were running illegal housing schemes booking offices in violation of Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010.RDA spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said Director General RDA Ammara Khan has directed MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against encroachments, illegal development / construction of booking and site offices and commercial activities within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi city without any fear and favour.
