The Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of Karachi University on Monday awarded 34 PhD, 36 MPhil and 2 MS degrees to students in various disciplines.According to KU Registrar Professor Dr Saleem Shahzad, the ASRB in its recently held meeting decided to confer on degrees to the scholars for successfully completing their research.PhD degree were awarded to Fatima Rizvi, Tahira Firdous, Abdul Rauf Shah, Perveen Akhtar, Mashhad Fatima, Shazia Sharafat, Shagufta Jahangir, Madiha Rehman, Meraj Zehra, Panira Ali, Muhammad Issa, Nuzhat Akram, Mehr-un-Nisa, Bilqees Fatima Memon, Imran Khan, Maria Kaleem, Sadaf Ismail, M. Bilal, Najia Mansoor, Aliya Kashif, Ruqaiya Khalil, Fouzia Sohail, Shahnaz Nasim, Shajeela Iram, Insia Hussain, Hafiza Farhat Mutalib, Wajiha Gul, Rabya Munawar, Urooj Nazim, Muhammad Usman, Ayesha Zia, Abeera Moin, Syed Muzzamil Ahmed and Sarwat Afshan in various disciplines.MPhil degrees awarded to Wajid Ali in Islamic Learning, Gulgoona, Sanober Jamil, Tahira Khalid and Shabana Naz in Clinical Psychology, Syeda Anum Fatima and Salma in Pharmacology, Mehreen Shehzad, Wafa Mahmood and Roohina in Chemistry, Arshad, Shahid Iqbal and Javed Hussain in Commerce, Sidra Yousuf and M Tabish in Marine Biology, Zaib-un-Nisa in Psychology, Zaitoon Kareem, Khalid Mahmood, Aqsa Sadaf and Tayyab Manzoor in Urdu, Sidra Fatima Hameedi, Muhammad Ifrahim, Umm E Farwa, Salma Hassan, Khair Ullah, Rabia and Rameez Raja in Chemistry, Samia Mushtaq in Physiology, Hafiz Noman Khan in Islamic Studies, Tahira Mansoor in Biotechnology, Muna Shaheen in Microbiology, Waqar Ahmad in Applied Economics, Adil Shehzad in Genetics, Annam Akhtar in Botany, Itrat Waqar in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Munnum Zafar in Molecular Medicine.The board also awarded two Master degrees of 30 credit hours to Zeba Salman and Farzana Naseem.
