180 youth from merged districts complete business incubation training

Islamabad : Graduation ceremony for Business Incubation Training programme was held here. The business incubation training was provided to 180 young entrepreneurs from Khyber, North Waziristan and South Waziristan districts, including 60 women from Khyber district.Various government officials, representatives of UNDP, Concept Unlimited, FAST National University and young entrepreneurs from the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the ceremony where Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal, Member Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the chief guest.This activity is implemented by Concepts Unlimited in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the USAID funded FATA Economic Revitalisation Programme (FERP). Business incubation training was provided to 180 young entrepreneurs from Khyber, North Waziristan and South Waziristan districts, including 60 women from Khyber district.These young entrepreneurs completed one month on campus incubation training. The business incubation programme supported entrepreneurs test new business ideas in the market by providing technical assistance in the form of mentoring, coaching and training. After approval from of their innovative ideas, these entrepreneurs will receive also grants and six months post incubation support in their own locations through an innovative approach developed under this project.“The business incubation training programme was implemented by Concepts Unlimited. Hands on training curriculum with exposure visits and local mentors was developed for the project participants,” said Haider Miraj, head of programmes and master trainer, Concepts Unlimited while appreciating the zeal and motivation of the project participants.Osama Izhar - COO, Concepts Unlimited said at the occasion; “A new and innovative approach was tested through this project, something that has never been undertaken before for the youth of newly merged districts. The concept of incubation has been successful in other developing countries across the world. However, the concept is still relatively new in Pakistan and we are conscious of limited business activity, innovation and opportunities in these districts.”
