Laal Kabootar wins Best Feature award at TSAFF 2019

The 14th Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF) that commenced on September 26, 2019, came to an end last weekend, that is, October 6, 2019. Among other screenings and talks, Pakistani film Laal Kabootar, directed by debutant Kamal Khan, was showcased on the closing night, followed by a Q & A session with lead actor Ahmed Ali Akbar and producer of the film Kamil Chima, both in attendance. The film won the Best Feature Film Award as part of the TSAFF Archana Soy Audience Choice Awards.“Excited to announce that we won the award for Best Feature Film at the Tasveer Film Festival,” stated a recent post on the film’s official social media handle.A post on Tasveer’s official Facebook handle read, “After an epic week of films, red carpet glitz, esteemed guests and visitors, and talented filmmakers, today marks the finale to TSAFF 2019...Congratulations to all the winners.”Speaking to the audience post the film’s screening, Ahmed Ali Akbar shared, “Kamal and I call getting into the character a process of discovery; there was a lot of inspection and thinking. It took a lot of time.”“We have gotten very positive reviews; people from every strata, every walk of life have come out and said that had they not recognized us Pakistanis, they wouldn’t believe it is a Pakistani film. It is so good,” he added.
