The Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) of Karachi University on Thursday conferred 27 PhD, 20 MPhil degrees and 2 MS (with course work) degrees in various disciplines.According to KU Registrar Professor Dr Saleem Shahzad, the BASR awarded the degrees in a recent meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Irqai.The PhD recipients included Muhammad Nadeem ul Haque, Shazia Iqbal, Erum Muzaffar, Muhamad Waqar, Syed Mudassir Hussain Gilani, Muhammad Zohaib, Tehzeeb Sakina, Afreen Faiza, Syeda Tafseer Zahra, Faiza Urooj, Sarwat Naz, Ayesha Fareed, Lubna Raza, Shahid Waheed, Abdullah Ahmad, Bilqees Seema Bhatkali, Taha Shabbir, Rizwan Ahmed, Syed Saifur Rehman, Muhammad Atif Raza Cheema, Sadia Amber, Saeed Abbas, Danish Ali, Abida Hafeez, Muhammad Kamran Khan, Sahir and Urooj Aziz.Memoona Jahangir, Sania Ajaz, Aleem Ashraf, Nazish Mustafa, Shafaq Javaid, Sadaf, Afshan Shams, Sadaf Baqai, Faiza Seraj, Sana Yaqoob, Naheed Akhtar, Shahid Durani, Khalid Mazhar, Wajid Zaman, Fakhra Shaheen, Sundas Ali, Fiza Ali, Uroosa Rasheed, Ayesha Khatoon and Syed Aqib Ali Zaidi were awarded MPhil degrees. Two students of Islamic History, Zahid Zulfiqar and Shuaib Ahmed, were awarded MS degrees.
