Mahira Khan responds to Firdous Jamal’s remarks - with respect

Presently busy promoting her upcoming Eid ul Azha release Superstar, Mahira Khan chose to respond with dignity to veteran actor Firdous Jamal’s ageist and undignified comments that he shared on a morning show, leaving even the host somewhat shocked. She took to Instagram and posted a heartfelt note that showcases a message of love, acceptance and respect, while she thanked everyone who stood by her.“We are the present. What we do and how we do it, is our future. Thank you to all those who have come out to support me – I did not ask for it and that makes it even more special,” she began.“As an artist, I am proud of my industry,” Mahira continued, reflecting on a journey in the industry that has given her so much. “I’m grateful to my senior artists for paving the way for people like me and so many others. I am also proud of myself. In this journey of mine, I can proudly say that I have done what I thought was right and never succumbed to what others thought was right for me. That – I will continue to do.”Mahira also stressed that though the world is full of hate, we should choose love. She added, “Let’s be tolerant of other people’s opinions and let our fight be against the mindset – that a successful woman is a scary thought. No it isn’t. It’s a beautiful and empowering one. Let us stop picking on one another so that this industry and our country thrives like no other.”You can’t help but appreciate the way Mahira chose to respond to the blatant remarks by Firdous Jamal. Even as a lot of people opted for hateful comments against the veteran actor, Mahira Khan emerged as the most dignified of all. We wish her all the luck for Superstar that looks promising as per the trailer.
