World Wildlife Day

March 3 is globally observed as ‘World Wildlife Day’ with the purpose to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s animals and plants. The 2019 theme is ‘Life below water: for people and planet’. The day aligns closely withSDG 14 which focuses on marine life, and will be an opportunity to highlight the critical issues and value of marine wildlife to our everyday lives.Pakistan’s marine life has been affected by frequent oil spills and discharge of toxic industrial waste in the seas. Our community leaders and wildlife department must take active part in the preservation and conservation of the wildlife in Pakistan.Shakeel KhanPeshawar
