Wajahat Rauf unveils title of his Eid ul Fitr release, Chhalawa

Earlier this year Wajahat Rauf announced his third film under his banner Showcase Production through a first-look poster featuring Mehwish Hayat and Zara Noor Abbas. Later, it was revealed that the film also features Azfar Rehman, Asad Siddiqui, Wajahat’s son Ashir Wajahat and industry veteran Mehmood Aslam in prominent roles. However, the title as well as the release date was under wraps.Yesterday Wajahat Rauf announced the title and release date via a small teaser featuring the cast that is introducing each other in the teaser. Written, directed and produced by Wajahat himself, the film is titled Chhalawa and is all set to release on Eid ul Fitr this year.“With great pleasure, I am announcing my 3rd film today,” Wajahat posted on his social media. “May Allah bless us with success, respect and a great reception by our beloved audiences throughout the world. [I] couldn’t have wished for a better cast and crew!”Chhlawa will see off screen couple Zara and Asad sharing the screen for the first time, while it features Mehwish and Zara as sisters.Speaking about the film to Instep in an earlier interview, Wajahat shared, “This one is a family, comedy-romance; it discusses relationships because family ties are such an institution in our country. And most of it will be said comically. I feel it also has novelty to it; it’s unique in its situations, which I’m saving for the trailer.”Let’s wait and watch what the trailer holds in store for us!
