LAHORE : International Women’s Day, is celebrated on 8th March (today), and is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights.According to a press release issued by AGHS Legal Aid Cell, the theme balance-for-better for Women’s International Day 2019 aims to build a gender balanced world. Women being 49% of the total population are a far cry in Pakistan from principles of equality and justice. World Economic Forum ranked Pakistan 143rd in the Global Gender Gap Report 2017 out of 144 countries. This day calls for action to accelerate gender equality, the press release added.
