ISLAMABAD: Islamabad has never seen such a thin traffic on the roads as it was on Sunday evening with people preferring staying at home in front of mini screens or gathering on set spots to see and enjoy Pakistan Super League (PSL) final and its closing ceremony.National Press Club in Islamabad arranged family gala inviting its member with their families to enjoy the occasion, offering the best available stage to watch the final. “It was really entertaining to see the final amid such a huge gathering. It gives you the atmosphere of Stadium. I think a good number of crowd here at the NPC that has gathered with their kids and family are keen followers of the game and know well how to enjoy the moment,” Sameer Ahmad said.Centaurus Mall and Safa Mall also arranged giant screens to attract cricket loving crowd. Majority of the fun seeking community in Islamabad arranged their own private parties to make full use of the occasion.“Every year when it comes to watching PSL final, we organize such gathering and the best view with huge LTD screen. I also arrange food and other necessary items for family and kids so that they can enjoy to the fullest,” Waleem Ahmad, a resident of F-11 said. At the outskirts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, some of the farm houses arranged special gathering for their friends and families to watch and enjoy the final. “It is a special occasion for us and why not to make it a rare one. I have invited my friends and family to watch the final in an open air here,” Asif Naseer, who has his own farmhouse in Naval Anchorage said.Sunday has always been a special day for club cricketers to show their talent at the open available spaces in Islamabad which usually are in penalty comparing to other congested cities.“We have played club cricket during the day and anxiously waited for the evening to watch the final. Though Islamabad United is out this time around, we want Peshawar Zalmi to win because of the Darren Sami,” Tehseen Khan, a local club cricketer when approached, said.
