NOWSEHRA: The Awami National Party (ANP) office-bearers for the Nowshera district were elected on Friday.The electoral process was supervised by ANP Inter-Party Election Commission chairman and the party parliamentary leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Sardar Hussain Babak, and Khushdil Khan.Jamal Khan Khattak secured 198 votes to become district president of the party. Engineer Hamid Khan became general secretary by bagging 200 votes. A total of 334 district councillors of the party took part in the exercise. Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Hussain Babak said that the ANP believed in democracy. He added that other political parties claimed to adhere to the democratic principles but imposed decisions on the workers instead of going for an election.
