LAHORE : Lady Health Workers (LHW) continued protest outside the Punjab Assembly on the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, causing huge inconvenience to commuters.The protesting LHWs were carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands and chanting slogans against the bureaucracy and the government. They reiterated their demands of revised service structure, scale upgrade, regularisation of ad hoc employees and payment of outstanding arrears.The Mall Road blockade caused untold sufferings to the commuters. Massive traffic jam was witnessed throughout the day but especially during school off timings.Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Basharat Raja held negotiations with the protesting LHWs and assured them to convince Chief Minister to issue notification for resolution of their core problems.LHWs President Rukhsana Anwar said the protest would continue till acceptance of all demands. We will only call off our protest after getting notification of fulfillment of our rightful demands,” she added.
