JUI-F chief says incapable rulers imposed on country

CHARSADDA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Sunday said the Muslims were being targetted under a conspiracy and his party would not compromise on the Islamic injunctions in the country.“Certain forces have imposed incapable rulers on the nation for their ulterior motives. Today, those who talk about Islam and religion are being cornered and looked at with suspicion,” Maulana Fazl, who is also Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) president, told a gathering held in connection with a dastarbandi ceremony here.He said protection of the sanctity of seminaries and mosques was the prime responsibility of the religious parties, which would be fulfilled at all costs. The Maulana believed that efforts were being made to end the country’s Islamic identity by taking control of madaris by the government.“This is not acceptable to us in any situation,” the JUI-F chief vowed and alleged that Ahmadis were being encouraged by handing them over the country’s economy and financial affairs. He said the incumbent government had no public mandate and alleged that certain forces had imposed Imran Khan on the nation to accomplish their agenda through him.The MMA president said despite difficult situation they would continue religious and political struggle to protect the nation from the onslaught of western followers. He condemned mosque attacks in New Zealand and killing of eight Pakistanis in Afghanistan.Meanwhile, the local journalists boycotted the coverage of the ceremony citing unbecoming attitude of the JUI-F leaders.
