ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) has formed a three-member committee to take up Mohammad Shakeel and Waqas Mehmood dope test issue. The two were tested positive for using banned 19-Norandrosterone drug during the National Championship heldThe committee includes Nisar Ahmad, Haroon General, and Maj (rtd) Rehmat Ali. Azhar Ali Shah, Secretary PCF said the committee will meet once the concerned players furnish their reply on the show cause sent. “The two have been served with show cause notice only on Wednesday evening and on the arrival of President PCF. Once we get the reply, the matter would be forwarded to the three-member committee.”When asked as to why the federation did not go public on the athletes failed test, he said the federation would do that once the committee decides on the matter. “We have not issued any press release so far nor we have any intention to do that. Only The News Islamabad correspondent was the only journalists getting my version on the players positive drug test matter Wednesday,” Azhar Ali Shah said.
