After essaying the titular role in Belapur Ki Dayan alongside Adnan Siddiqui and currently starring in Dil-e-Bereham, Amar Khan is busy shooting for her next, titled Margh-e-Ishq Se Pehle. Written by Saira Arif and directed by Shakeel Khan, the upcoming play is being produced under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment and features Amar as the fierce Alizeh.“Alizeh is a headstrong young woman who comes from an elite background,” Amar told Instep in an exclusive telephonic conversation. “She is bold, she is fierce and she is assertive. However, despite having everything, she is too possessive and insecure about everything.”Amar, who is presently shooting the second spell of Margh-e-Ishq Se Pehle in Karachi, also informed that Alizeh dictates her own terms and drives the narrative forward. “It breaks away from damsels in distress that we generally see on television,” Amar added. “Her attire reflects her personality and there is comic element to her character too. It will be a unique portrayal and something people will see on the small screen for the first time.”The play is expected to go on-air sometime around June this year and it is going to be an “out and out commercial story,” according to Amar.Aside from Amar, the upcoming production features Agha Ali and Hina Altaf in key roles along with veterans Zainab Qayyum (ZQ), Khaled Anam and Shamim Hilaly.– Buraq Shabbir
