Azaan Sami Khan praises Hadiqa Kiani’s work ethic

Mahira Khan – the first person to hear the music of Superstar outside of Azaan Sami Khan’s family and was the driving force in introducing him to industry insiders; he wrote the screenplay and directed the music for Superstar, the music of Parey Hut Love and how Azaan Sami Khan became associated with the film is different.“In December 2017, Sheheryar ‘sherry’ Munawar called. At that point, Parwaaz Hai Junoon hadn’t released. Nothing of mine had released. But within the industry, people had heard some stuff. I thought they’re calling me to do one song,” Azaan confessed.Among artists who featured on the original soundtrack of the film included contemporary names like Jimmy Khan, Ali Tariq (making his playback debut) as well as pop legend, Hadiqa Kiani – with several records to her name, the last one being Wajd. She co-sang ‘Ik Pal’ on PHL soundtrack“Hadiqa Kiani ji’s recording was the scariest recording because she had done two films, one of which was Sargaam, for which she recorded for my dad. She is one of the most humble, sweetest musicians and singers I’ve ever worked with.”“She told me how she had done a film for my father and that was scary. It was very nostalgic for me; she was close to my father and she was noticing similarities between me and my father.”To work with her was an exercise in humility for Azaan.“She was so humble and when working with a young composer and music director, to say, ‘aap batao, kaisa hai?’ is something extraordinary. We’ve become close since then.” After producing a film, learning how to edit at a young age, writing a screenplay (Superstar), music direction, Azaan will be making his acting debut and he has admitted that at least one film he is starring in will feature action, romance and comedy.
