Ali Rehman Khan, Naveen Waqar and Ushna Shah-starrer drama serial Bewafa went on air earlier this week. Though the play tackles the subject of extra marital affairs at large, it highlights some key aspects that surround marriages after the first few years.Ahaan (Ali) is married to Kinza (Naveen) for six years while the two also have a son. Kinza is an untrusting, annoying wife, which annoys him and he gets out of arguments just by saying what she wants to hear. She is a possessive wife and easily ends up doubting Ahaan even with little to no evidence. One day, she hears a voice note on her husband’s cell phone, sent by his employee Shireen, essayed by Ushna Shah, who is in love with Ahaan. Kinza creates a fuss while Ahaan shouts at Shireen for this act, clearly telling her that there can never be a romantic relationship between the two.Whether Ahaan will eventually gravitate towards Shireen is something we’ll find out in the next few episodes. The three lead actors delivered brilliant performances while the first two episodes kept us hooked to our TV screens.Directed by Aabis Raza, Bewafa is written by Radain Shah and it features an ensemble cast including Maira Khan, Laila Zuberi and Daniyal Qureshi, among others.
