‘Saaki-e-Bawafa’, a single by Saakin, the breakout band of 2018 from Islamabad, is a wonder the band has created. And it is going places as filmmakers in some parts of the world have recognized.To that end, the music video of Saaki-e-Bawafa’ has won the award for Best Music Video at the Asian Peace Film Festival.Directed by Ali Sattar, the music video is a time-loop and you have to watch it carefully for new ideas, imagery that constructs in your mind.Speaking to Instep post-win, Ali Sattar noted, “I am thankful to my entire team at 33 Productions who worked so hard to achieve this vision without their support this wouldn’t have been possible. A big thank you to Saakin for trusting me with their vision; they are not just my friends, they are more like family. They are a musical genius. I can’t wait for the whole country to recognise their talent. And thank you to everyone who liked and appreciated the video. InshaAllah more exciting stuff to come soon!” When asked if he was expecting the victory, Ali told Instep, “Not at all. I didn’t anticipate such a response to the video.”
