Deciphering Chris Nolan’s next

Christopher Nolan, one of the greatest directors of this generation with films like Dunkirk, Inception, Interstellar and The Dark Knight trilogy to his name, likes to keep his projects a secret until finished. But it seems a shake-up is in the making. For one thing, for the first time since Batman Begins, Chris Nolan has decided to work with a different editor, namely Jennifer Lame for his 2020 film. What else do we know? Chris Nolan is making an action adventure that will feature John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson. While Pattinson is well-known, thanks to the global Twilight phenomenon, John David Washington is known for his performance in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman and Elizabeth Debicki for the film, Widows and Netflix project, Netflix’s Cloverfield Paradox. Little else is known about the project except as The Hollywood Reporter notes, “Little is known about the new Nolan project but sources have described it as a globe-trotting adventure that has shades of the mind-bending nature of Inception but does involve the time continuum.”So, a mixture of Interstellar and Inception with Dunkirk thrown in? Nah, Nolan is smarter than that. According to Collider, “All we’ve heard is that the untitled picture is a ‘blockbuster action’ movie, and Robert Pattinson described the script as ‘unreal’ — a script he does not possess because had to be locked in a room to read it. So yeah, this mind-bending time continuum tip is probably the beefiest plot description we’re going to get for a while.”Christopher Nolan’s 10 films have grossed more than 4 billion dollars worldwide, which is why studios give him a bigger budget than your average director. HN Entertainment has noted that Nolan, also secretive about principal photography is looking to shoot his upcoming film in the United Kingdom. Without revealing much, Nolan did say that it “will certainly be asking [exhibitors] to really help us, and asking [them] to be our partners in terms of putting on a show for the audience and giving them a reason to come out for the evening, and engage with the world of cinema which we all love so much.”He also said: “The pressure is on us as never before to give people a reason to get out of the house.”
