FeedbackHey Ed,Really enjoyed Laraib Zakir’s story in March 8 issue. Her style is quite engaging; I really like when writers combine prose and poetry in their writing. I also love reading Laraib’s poems. I must say she is a brilliant writer and poet. I also see that Us poets are trying new things; came across Sa’ad Nazeer’s art mart and totally love it. Ed, I noticed there wasn’t a single story in the March 8 issue that celebrated women’s achievements. I think it was a perfect day to talk about the lives of young women in our country. Another thing I noticed is all the stories in the magazine were by female writers (maybe that’s how Us celebrated Women’s Day). I know names could be misleading, but I am sure Tooba, Javeria, Laraib and Aimen aren’t boys. Hajra Farhan, KarachiSalam Editor,“KLF 2019 - event of the decade” was an interesting read. I would definitely agree with the writer when she says literature festivals only cater English-speaking section of the society. I know many people who read Urdu literature are very passionate about promoting literature in the society. Festivals like KLF have nothing to offer them. Why don’t they just call “Karachi English Literature Festival” so that speakers of other languages don’t visit this festival? And yes, the writer pointed out correctly that nobody at the festival mentioned Javed Bhutto. He, too, was literary figure from Pakistan.
