Report on condition of roads sought

Islamabad : In view of heavy winter rains, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Amer Ali Ahmed has directed engineering wing of the authority to conduct a survey of highways, avenue, principal and service roads.The engineering wing has also been asked to come up with a plan for maintenance and rehabilitation of roads in the federal capital.The commuters have complained about appearance of rough patches and ditches on main and service roads and avenues caused by spell of rains. The situation more worst on the I J Principal Road, particularly the portion between Pandora and Katarian Chungi which is presenting scene of a rural.Traffic jam has become routine due to appearance of big ditches and standing water. Such bad condition also resulted due poor drainage system. Similarly, ditches could also be seen on Islamabad Expressway, near Faizabad and at many locations on avenues, service and sectoral roads particularly of G and I series and need immediate repair.
