LAHORE: Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said India, after 70 years of independence, stands divided while Pakistan is united.Addressing the convocation of the Superior Group of Colleges here on Saturday, he said the entire parliament showed confidence in the policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan the other day. The recent Indo-Pak crisis showed how mature Pakistan’s political and military leadership and the society are.“We didn’t create any war hysteria,” he said and appreciated the role of the Pakistani media in this regard. He said not everyone in India is a warmonger and there are saner voices who are now questioning their government that is a positive development. He said the establishment of peace in the region is the top priority of PM Imran Khan as 64 per cent population of Pakistan is below 35 years of age. “This is a huge potential which needs to be utilized for a bright future,” he said. That is why Pakistan is against warmongering. He said peace in Afghanistan resulted in peace in Pakistan and the same is true vis-à-vis India. The minister said with deployment of one soldier for every 10 Kashmiris, India has highly militarized Kashmir which it sees only as a territory.“We don’t see Kashmir as a territory or an area, Pakistan has a blood relation with Kashmir,” he said and added: “We have fought three wars for Kashmir. Whenever a pellet gun is used against a Kashmiri, its pain is felt by us here in Pakistan.”Pakistan had this blood relation with Kashmir since 1947 and India needs to resolve the Kashmir dispute as no progress is possible without resolving this issue. “Therefore our message to India is to come and have dialogue and try to resolve issues through dialogue,” he said and added the world is also endorsing Pakistan’s stance. He said war is not in the interest of anybody and winning or losing it is just an illusion because it would cause destruction. He said India is under immense global pressure as the world has been asking it not to create tension in the region. He said there is no environment for war in Pakistan as the government focus is on making the country’s economy stronger by promoting investment and reducing poverty. Pakistan is also playing an effective role to ensure stability in Afghanistan.
