The Human Rights Protection Centre (HRPC) recently held a conference in Lahore that focused on the protection of children, under #StopChildSexAbuse, and invited over a group of speakers to share their views on the subject. Advocate and actor Mawra Hocane was also a part of the event where she spoke about raising voice against child sexual abuse. After the event, Mawra took to Twitter and shared, “Extremely heartbreaking to hear all the victims speak at the HRPC at the #StopChildSexAbuse event. By the time I was called to speak my throat was chocked, I had goosebumps and I couldn’t breathe. I will do everything in my capacity to support this cause and so should you all!”Responding to Barrister Hassaan Niazi who thanked Mawra for being a part of the event, the Aangan actor said, “Thank you! I’m so grateful and honoured to be a minuscule part of your extra-ordinary efforts towards such an important cause! #StopChildSexAbuse. I hope we can collaborate on many other matters that require our attention and time! I’m so proud of all the rape and sodomy survivors.”On work front, Mawra is currently playing a key role in Ehteshamuddin’s period drama Aangan while she made her big screen debut in Pakistan last year with Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
