Man seeks govt help to reclaim property

PESHAWAR: A resident of the Kohat district has asked the government to help him recover his agricultural and commercial property from influential people.Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Malik Irshad said a powerful land mafia had grabbed his property by preparing bogus mutations.He said the property was situated on the Rawalpindi Road.Flanked by elders and residents, Malik Irshad said that they were the owners of the land measuring 55,000 kanal.The man alleged that a patwari in connivance with land mafia mentioned the names of some persons as owners in the land record. He said the land mafia had illegally occupied the land.Malik Irshad said the land grabbers had been requested through jirgas to hand over the possession of the property to them but to no avail.He said a local court and revenue authorities have passed a judgement in their favour and the mutation of the land mafia had been declared bogus.The man alleged that some elements in the bureaucracy and some political figures were backing the land mafia.He demanded the government to take a stern action against the land grabbers and help reclaim their property.
