LAHORE: President Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) General (R) Syed Arif Hasan says International Olympic Committee (IOC) Solidarity Technical Course will prove highly beneficial for softball in Pakistan.Arif said that the increasing popularity of softball in Pakistan and provision of infrastructure from the grass-root level has prompted IOC to select the game of softball for its technical course this year. “Softball’s international federation qualified coaches will conduct the course for Pakistani coaches and players. The local coaches and players will be taught about modern techniques, rules and regulations,” said Arif during a meeting with a delegation of Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) led by SFP Chairperson Tehmina Asif.Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput, Mohammad Nasir, Murad Hussain and Faraz Ejaz were also present on the occasion.Arif Hasan said that a letter has already been sent to SFP Secretary Asif Azeem to finaliee date and venue for the course. He further tasked Tehmina Asif to ensure high participation of female coaches adding that this course will be highly beneficial for women.Tehmina Asif thanked Arif Hasan and said that POA’s selection of softball for the IOC Solidarity Technical Course is a source of pride for her team.
