ISLAMABAD: Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai Tuesday rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s idea of an interim government in Afghanistan as a clear interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. In a message on Twitter, Karzai said Imran Khan’s repeated comments about Afghanistan’s future government is blatant interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. “I recommend to the gov’t of Pak & others to commit to friendly relations with AFG on principles of mutual respect to sovereignty & dignified relationship,” he wrote.Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Omar Zakhilwal also endorsed the statement of Karzai. “Like any other democracy we have our internal political differences but if there is one thing in which we are fully united that is demanding full respect of our neighbours for our sovereignty. It is no country’s business to suggest what type of govt Afg should or should not have!” he tweeted.Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad will begin another multi-nation trip on Afghan peace to Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Jordan and Qatar from March 25 to April 10, the US Department of State says in a statement. The statement said Khalilzad will travel to Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Jordan and Qatar March 25-April 10, as part of the overall effort to facilitate a peace process.
