Rawalpindi : Library of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) organised annual book fair from March 6 to 8 which was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir.Book Fair aimed at providing an opportunity to the students and Faculty members to find out the books of their interest under one roof and to promote book-reading habit among them.Vice Chancellor, FJWU Prof. Dr Samina Amin Qadir said that a book communicates knowledge, and not only knowledge but wisdom of all kinds. Also said that the more you read the more exposed you are, your attitudes, your ideas and your imagination changes. Book fair plays an important rule to help in inculcating reading habit among people of all age groups and also at the university level the book fairs are very important and highly remarkable intellectual activity especially for promotion of higher education and increasing reading habits.Also she appreciated efforts of the vendors who participated in the book fair and provided exposure to the students and faculty members who may not have enough inspiration to go to bookshops. She urged the teachers to play their role in promoting the culture of book reading and all educational institutes must arrange book fairs. Chairperson library committee Professor Dr. Azra Yasmin was also present in the inauguration ceremony along with them, dean, chairpersons and heads of different departments of the university attended the ceremony.
