ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Saturday comes hard on Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry for submitting the resolution in the National Assembly for Nobel Peace Prize for Prime Minister Imran Khan and termed that it was “unfortunate’ with saying that at a time when the country was facing the war threats and the government was busy in seeking Noble Award.“I failed to understand what the government was doing these things at a time when nation was praying for coming out from the war threats and stand united to face any aggression,” said senior leader of the PPP and ex-opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah while reacting on resolution submitted in the National Assembly Secretariat by information minister recommending for Nobel Peace Award for Prime Minister Imran Khan.Syed Khursheed Shah said the opposition while putting their differences with the government aside due to prevailing situation of the country and stood with the government on the matter of the national security. To a question, Syed Khursheed Shah said Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa briefed the parliamentary leaders of both the houses of the Parliament in an in-camera briefing but the prime minister did not attend such an important meeting of national security. “The opposition did not make an issue as when the country was facing such a big issue then it should not proper to make the smaller issue as a matter of ego,” he said.He said the opposition leads from front in the joint sitting of the Parliament to convey the clear the message to the enemy that Parliament is united but the prime minister whom the government wanted to nominate for peace award even have no courtesy to thank opposition. “For us the people of Pakistan and current prevailing security situation was more important rather than shaking hand with the prime minister,” he said.He said in such a testing times, the whole nation is stood behind the armed forces of the country to defend the motherland.Khursheed Shah said, “We have to tell through diplomatic and military channels that Pakistan is peace loving country and wanted peace in the region. “If the peace was destabilise in the region then the world will also be affected,” he said.He said the international community should come forward to stop Indian aggression against Pakistan.
