CM orders drug addicts shifting to rehab centres

PESHAWAR: Taking serious notice of the drug addicts staying under bridges, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has ordered to shift them to the rehabilitation centres and hospitals.“It is the government’s responsibility to make them useful citizens and provide them medical treatment, food and necessary training, etc,” said the chief minister in a statement.Mahmood Khan said the KP government would rehabilitate and set them on a healthy and meaningful life pattern.He said that he had already issued directives for collecting data of the drug addicts, which needed to be accelerated.Meanwhile, the Peshawar District Administration, Police and Social Welfare departments conducted operations in various areas of Peshawar and shifted around 300 addicts to different hospitals.
