Islamabad: Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday said the National Skill University was being set up whose charter had already been worked out.Addressing a function here, the minister said reforms were underway to bring education system in sync with market requirements.He said his ministry had already established linkages with the chambers of commerce and industry for the purpose.The minister said the Annual Development Plan was being worked out to ensure the imparting of training to more and more people in different skills.He said training institutes throughout the country would be converted into the centres of excellence to boost their performance.The minister said five centres of excellence would be set up in all provinces.He said the National Skill University was also being set up and its charter had already been worked out.The minister said the Centre of Hospitality was being set up with the cooperation of Turkey to promote the tourism sector.He said the federal government was working in consonance with the provincial governments to upgrade education according to market needs.
