Bilawal highlights women's rights as he meets with organizers of Aurat March in Karachi

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with the organizers of Aurat March on Saturday and highlighted the issues they stand for while rooting for women empowerment.The PPP leader extended his support to issues of gender inequality prevalent in the society as he met with the women rights activists behind Aurat March accompanied by Sherry Rehman at Bilawal House on Saturday.“Pleasure meeting some organizers of #AuratMarch. Women reclaiming social, political & public spaces important for progress. Bigoted, misogynistic & vitriolic reaction of some is expected in a patriarchal society. Women’s rights are human rights & human rights are women’s rights,” read his tweet.Former leader of opposition Sherry Rehman also shared her thoughts about the meeting saying: "Good discussion with women’s rights activists, old and new comrades, today as they met with PPP Chairman @BBhuttoZardari in Karachi today. The PPP has pledged full support for women’s rights,empowerment as enshrined in our Constitution and party manifesto. #SolidarityWithSisters"The meeting was attended by activists Sheema Kirmani, Qurat Mirza, Nighat Dad, and Aiman Rizvi.
