Bilal Abbas signs up for his next with Mehreen Jabbar

Starring as an anti-hero in ongoing crime/suspense drama Cheekhalongside Saba Qamar and Aijaz Aslam, Bilal Abbas has proven her mettle time and again. Though his film debut didn’t turn out to be a success, it landed him roles that show his range as an actor. From O’Rangrezaand Qurbanto Balaaand the most recent Cheekh, he has come a long way. Adding to the list is his upcoming project which will be directed by Mehreen Jabbar.Bilal took to his social media yesterday and shared a few pictures from his next, announcing that it is being directed by Mehreen Jabbar. The actor also mentioned that he cannot reveal much at the moment.Instep got in touch with Mehreen, whose play Dil Kia Karaythat stars Feroze Khan and Yumna Zaidi is presently on-air, to find out about the upcoming project. Though she too refrained from sharing any details, she informed that the script is written by Umera Ahmed.“I am just excited to do something with Umera[Ahmed] again; it’s been a long time,” she shared with Instep.Mehreen also shared that they are currently shooting for the project and it will conclude in April. According to reports, the upcoming project is a web series but we aren’t sure as of now. Let’s wait and watch.Coming back to Bilal, he recently shot for Haseeb Hassan’s upcoming ‘Pakistan Day’ special telefilm, titled Laalthat will go on air on March 23.– Buraq Shabbir
