For those of you who still haven’t seen the finale episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones, we won’t give away any spoilers. What will you do now though? One suggestion: watch the documentary on the making of Game of Thrones that is out.But it is safe to say that Sophie Turner, who essayed Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, became a global star, thanks to her performances throughout the seasons. But now that the world’s favourite TV show has ended, where does Sophie Turner go next? Luckily, she’s not taking a hiatus. In fact, she’s set to join new entrant Jessica Chastain alongside X-Men stars James MvAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hault in Dark Phoenix, a comic book character where her alter ego, Dark Phoenix develops remarkable powers and proves to be the single most powerful mutant. This arc has been alive since the rebooted X-Men movies began. One is the scientist Jean Grey but the other, Dark Phoenix, darker in nature, is much more powerful than any mutant - seen in the film franchise. And Dark Phoenix wants to play. With the film scheduled to release next month, Sophie Turner noticed similarities between the two characters. In an HBO interview, she is quoted saying: “I’m always drawn to strong, independent women and Sansa and Jean are both that. They eventually use all of these terrible things that happened to them and they become incredibly strong women.”When comparing the two franchises – Game of Thrones and X-Men, the actress rightly noted that despite the fantastical elements, there is human connection in both. She said: “If the world’s were to collide, I think Jean would probably be a Targaryen. She’s the Phoenix. She rises from the ashes just like Daenerys does at the end of season one. It’s all about fire, baby!”In another interview, Sophie Turner revealed that Sansa Stark never wanted the Iron ThroneIn another interview, the actress noted how therapy helped her cope with teen stardom. Teen Vogue noted: “In an interview with Dr. Phil on his podcast Phil in the Blanks, Sophie said that after experiencing depression, she’s learning to love herself more. A big part of that, she said, is going to therapy and getting on medication.‘For me, getting out of bed and getting out of the house and learning to love yourself is the biggest challenge,’ Sophie said, according to CNN. ‘I feel much better. I’ve been going to therapy at CAST Centers, actually. I’m on medication and I love myself now, or more than I used to, I think’.”
