By the Ocean

Wedding wear in Pakistan is no longer like a sunken treasure, an heirloom locked away to surface only when needed. It is riding the ebb and flow of the ocean, taking turns between traditional and contemporary, as desired. Zainab Chottani is one designer who has managed tocapture the wave perfectly; her summer wedding wear is like tidal moods, gently washing between the ethos of a perfect past and present. Summer brides embrace whites, pastels and fragrant, floral tones complemented by equally delicate embellishment; they also turn fiery red like the torrential waves that crash in with the monsoon. It’s a wide canvas, one as vast as the ocean itself.
