Dubai-based writer and director Shazia Ali Khan’s directorial debut Pinky Memsaab – A Dubai Story released across Pakistan and Dubai on December 7 this year. Based in Dubai, the film follows the life of four individuals as they struggle to find true happiness amidst work and relationships.Featuring Hajra Yamin, Kiran Khan, Adnan Jaffar and Sunny Hiduja in key roles, Pinky Memsaab received mostly positive reviews with a few variations. However, given that it is a serious film and potentially catered to a niche audience, it was perhaps this reason that led to its removal from cinemas after just two weeks of release. It is running in Lahore though. The good news is, Pinky Memsaab is back in Karachi. It is scheduled at Cinepax Cinema, Ocean Mall for 5:35 pm daily, according to Adnan Jaffar, who confirmed it to Instep. So, if you haven’t watched the film yet, make sure you do before it is removed again. Pinky Memsaab is superior to a much bigger film like Zero that has opened to bad reviews. You could also opt for Aquaman, DC Comics’s latest production running across theatres in Pakistan but our suggestion: watch Pinky Memsaab.
