Kangana Ranaut hopes to shut down critics with upcoming film

Kangana Ranaut is not afraid to speak her mind. After one year, as she returns to the big screen in the upcoming Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi, the actress, who is gearing up to promote her film said in one press interaction that “people who criticize her at the drop of a hat will have to shut their mouths after watching the film,” noted Indian Express.Interacting with the media on the sidelines of a Christmas party in Mumbai, said Kangana about critics: “I feel people who are not saying good things about me or my film will have to shut their mouths after watching the film and people who are saying good things, their mouths can’t be shut by anyone, this is what I feel.”For the upcoming film, Kangana, who has several strong roles to her credit, has also taken the mantle of director. And the response to the trailer is said to have impressed fans of the somewhat controversial actress. Responding to the positive response to the trailer of the film, Kangana said, “I feel that’s the result of team work. Initially, I found it difficult but then, I felt that I can do justice to the film as an actor and as a director.”She added: “I think God has been kind and I am happy doing both roles. We are very excited for the release of the film. We just can’t wait to present the film in front of the audience.”Manikarnika, according to the actress is “a love story but not with a human”. It has been written by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also has blockbuster films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali series to his credit. When asked about the support from the writers, she said: “Writers have supported me really well during the film. Mr. Vijayendra Prasad is writing my next film as well.”As for direction, Kangana Ranaut in an earlier interview revealed, “It may sound strange, but I have never really identified with being an actress. It’s not my calling, direction is. It’s actually surprising even to me how comfortable I feel being a director on set, even when I am sweating buckets and I am surrounded by 500 people and everyone’s screaming at the same time.”She added, “There’s something about directing a film that’s so gratifying, even though it’s a worker’s life. An actor is just one part of the whole orchestra of filmmaking and it kind of makes me feel inadequate, that I am not doing enough as a creative person.”Manikarnika will hit cinemas on January 25, 2019. – With information from The Indian Express
