Last week actor and director Shamoon Abbasi revealed that he will be attending the ongoing 72nd edition of Cannes Film Festival, which will run till May 25, and that he will be representing his upcoming film, Durj along with his team.Recently, Shamoon Abbasi took to social media to announce that even though he couldn’t make it to the festival, the film was screened yesterday (May 21) where one of his team members, actor and producer Dodi Khan was present.“I am not attending Cannes Film Festival 2019, as I am traveling to Istanbul for the matter of global release of our film Durj and to attend a film conference in Turkey,” he wrote on his official Facebook handle.“Indeed it is a proud moment for me as a director, and will surely regret not being present at such a prestigious moment!” he shared, adding that he wishes good luck to everyone who has been part of his directorial venture. Based on true events, Durj highlights a serious issue of cannibalism in Pakistan and features Shamoon Abbasi, Sherry Shah, Myra Khan, Nouman Javaid and Majid Khan (Dodi) in key roles. The suspense-thriller is all set to release globally - in US, UK, Canada, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar - on October 11, 2019.
