KARACHI: Shahzar Hasan, Nadeem Javed and Hasan Sardar powered Eaton Cricket Club to a 27-run victory over Millat Cricket Club in their Group B fixture of the Karachi Gymkhana-Omar Associates Ramazan Festival Cricket Tournament here at the KG Cricket Ground on Tuesday.Opener Shahzar hammered three sixes and six fours in his breezy 67 off 44 balls. Nadeem scored an aggressive unbeaten 54 off 34 balls with three sixes and four fours, which enabled Eaton CC, asked to bat first, to post an impressive total of 182 for four in the allotted 20 overs.Medium-pacer Asif Mahmood claimed two wickets for 38 runs, while Amir Brohi, also a medium-pacer, gave away only 13 runs in his four-over spell.Millat CC got off to a flying start through openers Sajjad Hashmi (53 off 37 balls) and Shayan Naeem (17 off 18 balls) who scored 63 for the first wicket. At 102 for three, they seemed well placed to run away with the game. But leg-spinner Sardar brought about a dramatic middle-order collapse to change the complexion of the game. he picked up four wickets in as many overs at a cost of 27 runs to reduce Millat CC to 106 for six. They were eventually contained to 155 for six at the end of 20 overs. Sardar was declared the Man of the Match.
