Rs5m smuggled phones seized

LAHORE: Customs Department on Tuesday seized 1,920 smuggled mobile phone sets worth Rs5 million. Lahore Collector Customs Preventive Ahmad Rauf received information about the smuggled cell phones, after which, a team of custom officials intercepted a van on The Mall and seized 1,920 smuggled mobile handsets of different brands worth Rs5 million.Arrested: Iqbal Town Division arrested 81 criminals and recovered drugs and weapons from their possession. Moreover, seven proclaimed offenders of A&B categories in cases of theft, cheque dishonour, fraud and other crimes were arrested along with 11 court absconders. Police also arrested 46 criminals for doing wheelie and violating Price Control and Rental Acts.
