Iqbal was reacting to a news conference in which Qureshi had spoken about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government moving a bill in the National Assembly for the formation of the South Punjab province. In that news conference, Qureshi said there were members in the PML-N stuck on the bill they had presented in the past. Ahsan Iqbal said the PML-N had already presented a bill in the National Assembly for the formation of the South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces. He added that this bill was opposed by the PTI.
