Islamabad : Federal Secretary for Communications Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has emphasised upon ensuring implementation of M-Tag Registration by June 12, 2019 for the vehicles passing through Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) & Islamabad-Lahore Motorway (M-2) toll plazas.Objective of this M-Tag registration is to facilitate the travelers and to ensure uninterrupted passage of vehicles. He was presiding over a high level meeting held at Ministry of Communications here on Monday participated Additional Secretary Communications, Joint Secretary Communications, and senior officers from National Highway Authority (NHA), National Highways and Motorway Police and Frontier Works Organisation. The meeting reviewed pace of advancement on M-Tag registration process for the vehicles passing through M-1 and M-2.Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui reiterated that M-Tag registration aims at ensuring smooth flow of traffic at M-1 and M-2 toll plazas. For the purpose, the FWO has set up facilitation centers in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and also in Peshawar for M-Tag registration. Such centers are also established at entry and exit points of Motorways and at service areas while recharging services will be available at mobile companies service centers and post offices. He said all the possible steps be taken for implementation of M-Tag registration by June 12, 2019.
