Avengers: Endgame could make box office history

We won’t tell you what happens in Avengers: Endgame or give up spoilers but the film, currently running in Pakistan with great success, is making waves worldwide. As fans around the world say goodbye to some of their favourite characters as new superheroes emerge, the numbers suggest fans were waiting for this film, which came after Captain Marvel as the greatest superhero film of all-time.Who says the film business can’t be lucrative? The numbers have been tallied and it looks like Avengers: Endgame has left behind Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther that many believe was as much a celebration of Africa as it was about establishing the identity of Black Panther.Multiple reports suggests that while Endgame has yet to dethrone Avatar, tracking suggests it is on its way to 3 billion dollars worldwide. The film has already defied expectations by grossing $356 million in the U.S. and more than $1.22 billion internationally in just five days in theaters, and with no major film expected, it will have its day at the box office. Will it get past Avatar, Titanic and the others? It seems so.“Next weekend’s sales decay is an important data point to judge whether the movie will reach this level of success,” Mark Zgutowicz, analyst at Rosenblatt Securities, wrote in a research note Monday. “Avengers: Infinity War witnessed 56 per cent decay domestically in the second weekend. While difficult to predict, this level of decay for Avengers: Endgame would imply $156M domestically next weekend, and lend more confidence in $2.9 billion global box office potential.”
