Actor-director Shamoon Abbasi has featured in various TV plays as well as films that have come out post cinema revival in Pakistan. Some of his films include Waar, O21, Manto and the most recent, Parwaaz Hai Junoon that is an air force film. Set to appear in at least two films next year, Abbasi recently signed on for another film project, called Chaudhry, which, according to him, is a biopic of sorts. Helmed by Azeem Sajjad and written by Zeeshan Junaid, the film is based on the life of slain police officer, Chaudhry Aslam Khan.We got in touch with the actor to find out about his role in the upcoming project which is an action-thriller.“I can’t reveal much, but all I can say at this point is that I have a special role in the film,” he told Instep. “I am playing someone that was very close to Chaudhry Aslam. The ending is very interesting and will surprise viewers.”The actor-director added that his character in the film is totally different from the intense roles he has essayed in two of his upcoming movies, Durj and Gumm.“Though I expect a lot of bashing on my character in Chaudhry, I accepted to do this role because the end will certainly intrigue the audience,” he added.Aside from Shamoon Abbasi, the upcoming film features model turned actor Zara Abid and Zohaib Khan in key roles.
