The 25th installment in the 007 franchise, No Time to Die, which is Daniel Craig’s fifth and (most likely) final film in the franchise, is all set to release worldwide in April 2020. While we know that Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer has officially taken over the reins of the upcoming Bond film, replacing Dan Romer, recent reports suggest that American singer Billie Eilish is recording the theme song for No Time to Die.
The news was confirmed by the official James Bond Twitter account. “The #NoTimeToDie title song will be performed by Billie Eilish,” read the post. “Billie has written the song with her brother Finneas O’Connell and is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song.”
In response the ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer tweeted, “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”
James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have described Eilish’s song as “incredibly powerful and moving,” adding that it had been “impeccably crafted to work within the emotional story of the film.”
The film is helmed by American filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga, who took over direction duties from Sam Mendes; No Time to Die also stars Oscar winning actor Rami Malek, who will be seen as Safin, the mysterious villain. Besides Craig and Malek, the forthcoming film features Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris, who will be reprising their roles, as well as new additions Ana de Armas and Lashana Lynch.
