Daniel Arthur Panjwaneey, whose solo music identity is Alien Panda Jury (APJ), confirmed to Instep that he is not a part of Coke Studio 12 - in any capacity.Meanwhile, as part of promoting his latest EP Enneagram – with artwork by Sana Nasir and photography by Humayun Memon – APJ via Berlin-based label Noland has unveiled a series of music videos for songs off the EP such as ‘Type4’ (by Pakarazzi: Omer Bashir & Amar Ayaz) and ‘Hello Kukido’, available on YouTube.Speaking to Instep, Alien Panda Jury reiterated that after two editions of Sine Valley Festival in Katmandu, Nepal, as obtaining visas has becomes difficult, he aims to host four shows per year in Karachi.Recently featured on Karachi Community Radio (KCR), his set from the show ‘Terminal 404’ can be found on YouTube as well while APJ – who plays bass for The D/A Method under his own name, Daniel Arthur Panjwaneey - is also featured on the band’s upcoming third album titled Sanctuary. In an earlier interview, Daniel noted how he had learned from Coke Studio when he was on the team years ago. “I’ve learnt a lot working with Rohail Hyatt, his aesthetic; I learned from Bilal Iftikhar. Obviously, there’s a certain standard that you have to maintain when you are doing recordings like that. That’s something I bring here (A for Aleph). I don’t want to do something half-assed. Compared to what I was doing when let’s say I was engineering and producing Lussun TV, going to Coke Studio was a completely different aesthetic. One was very ghetto, D-I-Y kind while the other one was a very professional setup. I think Aleph has a professional setup but the heart of D-I-Y (Doing It Yourself).”A member of A for Aleph as audio engineer, the studio has played home to new recordings by Takatak, Malang Party, Surkhwaab with plans to record several others including Mauj, though the latter is in pre-production stage and apart from singer-songwriter Omran Shafique, the new Mauj will feature a different line-up as compared to the debut album; among them is Anas Alam and Aziz Kazi.
