Healthy democracy?

The new rates of medicines are touching the sky. The unreasonable price hike of medicines by some pharmaceutical companies has made the conditions of the poor unliveable. Pakistan is a democratic country and democracy, in its truest sense, means making the provision of basic facilities such as healthcare and education to such an extent as is affordable. It is pathetic that the prices of medicines have been raised to an unaffordable extent. The government should look into the matter seriously to slow the relentless rise of drug prices. And in case of noncompliance by pharmaceutical companies take legal action against them under the Drugs Act, 1976, and the DRAP Act, 2012.Rashid TalaniJacobabad
